Stills from DEAR LINA

There were two screenings of Dear Lina that were particularly memorable for me. The first was at El Colombo Americano, a cinema in Medellin, Colombia showcasing independent fiction and documentary films. The engagement of the audience came through during the Q&A and feedback I received after the screening. People could relate to Lina's experiences from growing up in Medellin.

The second screening, shown below, was at the farm featured in the film where Lina's grandparents lived. It was an intimate family event where we carried up a laptop, screen and speakers and made a make-shift cinema. Home made ice cream was served in place of popcorn.
